Kick@$$ Gijinka Contest (2 Weeks Left!)April 3 - May 3Team-Kickass
Update 4/17/15: (It's technically "two weeks and three days", but who's counting~?) I'm honestly blown away by the huge response this contest has received so far, but I'm happy that you guys are having so much fun with it!
You'll be happy to hear that I've upgraded the runner-up prizes from 1 month premiums to 3 month premiums (or 650 ), so all the more incentive to win!
And finally, I still need a few more judges for the contest, so if you don't plan on entering, but would still like to participate, then please leave a comment expressing your interest below. I'll note you privately if you've been added~
Thanks and good luck!
It's about time for another Kick@$$ contest!
This year's theme: GIJINKERS!
I enjoy reading gijinka comics as much as the next person, but it seems that I can never be bothered to design gijinka versions of my own pokemon OC's. I've done a few rough concepts in the past, but n
The Fall Ranger OC ContestThe Fall- Pokemon Ranger ContestThe-Fall-Fans
For this contest, you are to design a Ranger and if your character is in the top three slots, said Ranger will appear in The Fall or it’s sequel as reoccurring side characters. Your submission can be a drawing (with a description) or a completely written entry!
Even if you don’t secure a spot as a winner, your character may still get a cameo because I always have room in side comics and the main comic for more Rangers.
You have until May 19th to finish it, but I am open to pushing it back to the end of May if you guys need more time.
- You may not trace/steal art for your entry if you choose to draw-
it must be original.
- You may work as a team with a friend to complete your entries
- You may recycle/reuse your own pre-existing OC’s
Art Block AdviceHope this helps~Aerorwen
Sorry writers, but maybe some of these tips will help you out too?
Disclaimer: This is just how I experience art block, I understand that it probably won't help everyone.
I don't recall experiencing art block in the sense that I don't know what to do draw, just that I don't like what I drew.
So I'm afraid in that respect- opening requests from people would help? If you don't know what to draw, perhaps being told what to draw would help???
Art block is a terrible, terrible thing. We’ve all had it. And writer’s get writer’s block. Unfortunately, I am only going to focus on how to get over art block and diminish it until it’s a mere hurdle that you can either step over or kick down. Whatever you prefer.
I have not had genuine, crippling art block in over a year. I’ve had moments- fleeting little moments every few months, but I get over them in half an hour at the most.
That probably sounds pretty n

1. Write a freaking script! Don't get me wrong, I adore :iconKayFedewa: and The Blackblood Alliance. But Kay herself has admitted how much trouble she got herself into by starting the comic and not having a script. And when one of the top artists on DA admits to the pitfall, you had best sit up and take notice. It's called a graphic NOVEL, folks. And just because it has cute pictures doesn't mean you get to half-ass it. Considering how much work goes into making a graphic novel looks good, I am continually gobsmacked by the number of people who plunge into it without bothering with a contingency plan. You know exactly what the end result looks like. About ... oh, ten, twenty pages, maybe 30 if you're lucky. And then it ends, and you won't see updates for months and years. If ever. It's not often that I invoke prior planning prevents piss p
