Snatch Character Design

Description

This is the main character of a 3D-animated short that I'll be working on over the summer. I'm technically the creative director and a lighter and I'm working with a (wonderful) team of fellow students. It's crazy but by the end of August Snatch will hopefully be a finished product! It'll be a mad race but the first couple of classes have proven to be pretty fun, so hopefully I can survive this process and still love the story even afterward XD

I've uploaded the Snatch animatic here for the curious: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rHxRT…
It's changed a bit since the storyboard because it all had to be fit into 30 seconds. I think it reads properly but feel free to give feedback if you're confused on what happened.

I still need to come up with a name for the main character here :> I'm open to suggestions!
As a side note, the style I used for this was compared to the style used in Frozen and I inwardly cringed. I am intentionally using a more "Pixar-like" style but, generally speaking, every time my style is compared to something Disney, it's difficult to take as a compliment. It might be because I perceive the style itself as generic and I want my style to be more than that. BUT I am okay if this style looks more Disney because it makes the resolution of the short that much sweeter.
But does this really look like an Elsa/Anna clone?? :<

Aw her top left most headshot painting is adorable!
The youtube animantic also looks great, I can't wait to see this project finished!

And I know what you mean. A lot of people call my style "anime" and frankly I don't see it, nor do I want to be in that category. If it helps, I can recognize your style immediately :)
